Kim Seok-woo is a South Korean Actor 김석우. He was born on the 7th of August 1996. He is better known by his stage name Rowoon.
He is an actor, singer and model. A former member of the South Korean boy's band SF9. Currently active as an actor, best known for his male lead roles in television series or dramas as they are called in Korea. Extraordinary You (2019), The King's Affection (2021), She would never know (2021), Tomorrow (2022), Destined with You 2023) and The Matchmakers (2023). He won several awards for his performance in those series.
Since Extraordinary you, he has grown into a fully accomplished, versatile actor, from romance to drama, and lately absolutely hilarious into The Matchmakers. He has shown an acting maturity unmatched for his young age, and is now followed by thousands over the world. His talent, beauty, and delightful personality, his intelligence and insight in choosing each of his role, will no doubt lead him to shining tomorrows.
Parallel to his acting career, he is also a model for several Brands : Ilso, Oligio and Estee Lauder in the past ( cosmetics) and Fashion : Andz, The North Face , Rimowa, Calvin Klein. In 2024, he was chosen by European Fashion brands Dolce& Gabbana and Dior, for their shootings. In April 2024, he signed a contract with the Italian Brand Bottega Veneta and is also a model for Pharrell Williams jewellery collection Titan, for Tiffany&co. He is also modelling for his home brand Andz, well known for their classic elegant clothing in Korea. In 2025 He did a sensational Calvin Klein Shooting, and created a huge buzz on social media.

2013–2014
He was introduced as a trainee in FNC Entertainment's reality show Cheongdam-dong 111.
2015–2016: Debut as a singer with SF9
In 2015, he was a part of pre-debut team, "Neoz School", under FNC Entertainment as a member of the group called NEOZ. In May 2016, he participated as a member of "NEOZ Dance" in FNC Entertainment's survival show d.o.b (Dance or Band), competing against NEOZ Band (later known as Honeyst). "NEOZ Dance" won the competition with 51% of the votes and received the opportunity to debut.
He debuted with group SF9 in October 2016 with the single "Fanfare".
2017–2018
His acting career in television series began with KBS2's School 2017 with a minor supporting role. After his appearance, he steadily began receiving bigger roles. In March 2018, he was confirmed to star in tvN's About Time as the female lead's brother. In July 2018, he was confirmed to star in SBS's Where Stars Land in which he was nominated for the New Actor award.
Rising Star
On May 9, 2019, Rowoon was confirmed to be the male lead in MBC's school fantasy drama, Extraordinary You based on the hit Daum webtoon July Found by Chance.[
In the role of Haru, Rowoon's popularity skyrocketed, launching him into stardom in Korea. He was nominated at the MBC Drama Awards with fellow costars, Kim Hyeyoon and Lee Jaewook, for Best Couple, and was awarded with Best New Actor. On May 10, 2019, Rowoon was featured in NC.A's music video, "밤바람" (Awesome Breeze). In April 2020, it was revealed that he would be the voice of Branch in the Korean dub of the animated movie Trolls World Tour.
In May 2020, FNC Entertainment confirmed that Rowoon would star as the male lead. in upcoming JTBC drama She Would Never Know, based on the webtoon of the same name. The drama began airing in January 2021.
Turning point The King's Affection
In 2021, Rowoon also starred as the male lead in the historical drama,
The King's Affection, which premiered in October 2021. At the KBS Awards he won Best Actor, Best couple with Park Eun Bin and Popularity Award. The King's affection went viral on Netflix and contributed to his rising fame worldwide.
In late 2021, Rowoon became an MC for KBS Song Festival along with Astro's Cha Eun-woo and Kim Seol-hyun.
In 2022, Rowoon starred in the MBC fantasy drama Tomorrow. He won the excellence actor award in a mini serie.
2023 A STAR IS BORN.
On September 18, 2023, FNC announced that Rowoon will be halting group activities with SF9 to focus on his acting career while remaining in the agency.
Late 2022 and on to 2023, he was the male lead as Shin Yu in the JTBC drama Destined with you with Cho bo Ha. director Nam Ki Hoon.
The series was released in 2023 and was yet a new step up for Rowoon. In that fantasy story, he proved he could be such a creative actor, demonstrating a wide range of emotions as Shin Yu. The series also went viral on Netflix worldwide.
He was offered the role of Jung Woo, in a new historical drama called The Matchmakers (KBS) . Film makers : Hwang Seung and Kim Soo Jin, with actress Cho Yi Hyun. Rowoon multifaceted talentsd, was noticed again in this role as the hilarious, comic, Jung Woo.
2024
Rowoon spent 10 months filming in a new drama , The Murky Stream, the first K historical drama to be shown on Disney Plus in 2025.
2025
The Murky Stream, was released on Disney Plus Globally on the 26 of September 2025. The drama premiered at the Busan Film Festival in September 2025.
Rowoon won The Rising Star award for his role as Jang SIyul.
Since he left SF9, Rowoon has also demonstrated his talents as a solo ballad singer, doing many concerts/ fan meets in the last two years. His sensitive, interpretation of some of the most beautiful Korean and Japanese songs have added to his ever growing fandom all over the planet.
On the 26/10/2025 Rowoon has enlisted into the Korean army, for 18 months.
He will come back in April 2027.
He will be sorely missed and we will support him all the way until he is back.

He said, during his fan meet in Seoul, on the 31st of May, that he will go on learning other languages when he is away, so he can act in new foreign films after 2027! Probably America, as he has been going there often lately, but also we hope EUROPE, as we have many quality unusual filmmakers in France, Italy, Germany, Spain and elsewhere.
